Jerry and Fonda Higgenbotham never realized buying their first home would be so easy — especially during a pandemic.
The couple had been renting a while and knew that when their lease was up, they wanted to buy.
Knowing they wanted to stay west of Houston and in an up-and-coming area, they visited several communities and several builders before finding J. Patrick Homes in Jordan Ranch. They say Sales Professional Lynn Lessing-Canales was instrumental in helping them find the perfect home.
“Any home we went in she wanted to make sure that we felt like home,” Fonda said. “She would tell us to walk through on our own and see how we liked it.”
A Realtor with Engle & Volkers Realty in Katy, Fonda has seen a lot of homes, which is why she was so impressed with what she saw when walking through a J. Patrick home.
“You could just tell the quality of these homes,” she said. “Designs by J. Patrick Homes carry a certain sophistication.”
Jerry agrees.
“The look and quality of the home stood out to us,” he said. “Plus, we got into the home early enough that we could change some options, which was great, as well.”
Jerry also was impressed by the customer service they received during and after construction of the home.
“I can’t say enough about how much we appreciate Lynn and everyone in the J. Patrick family,” he said. “They communicated with us throughout construction and after the process. Lynn stayed in touch with us even on her days off and is receptive to us calling at any time.”
The pair decided on J. Patrick’s McKenzie floor plan, which offers four bedrooms and 4. 5 baths within 3,578 square feet. Jerry says his favorite space is the theater room. Fonda? Well, she loves everything.
“I’ve become so protective over the house,” she said. “My OCD tendencies are coming out and I’m over-cleaning.
“But I really do enjoy sitting on the patio and looking at our water view.”
