Meet J. Patrick Homes Lender — and Homeowner — Taylor Crowell

Celebrating 35 years of exceptional homebuilding, J. Patrick Homes is talking to homeowners and business partners about their experiences. Today, we are talking to one person who is both — Taylor Crowell.

Taylor Crowell knows a lot about home builders in Houston, particularly J. Patrick Homes — and not just because she works for one of J. Patrick’s preferred lenders, V.I.P. Independent Mortgage, Inc.

She’s also a J. Patrick Homes homeowner.

J. Patrick Homes built a home for Taylor and husband Chad in 2022, about three years before she would become a preferred lender working with the builder on a regular basis. Taylor said at the time the couple started their home-buying journey, she was familiar with J. Patrick but didn’t know the J. Patrick difference and how close the company holds true to its “power to personalize” slogan until they entered their model home in Woodtrace.

“We were treated well the minute we walked through the door,” Taylor said of the Houston home builder. “I felt the Sales Professional really listened to us and was focused on fulfilling our wishes and not just selling us a house.”

A bedroom downstairs and a play area near the main living area were on the Crowells’ list of must-haves. Chad was happy J. Patrick Homes said they could expand the garage.

“That was the first time they had ever made that particular change to that floor plan,” Taylor said.

The Sales Professional also offered what Taylor considers invaluable advice on which lot to select, especially since they had a small child at the time and since have added a second to the family.

“We were going to choose a different lot, but he helped us find the correct one,” she said. “We’re on a cul-de-sac street with lots of kids and we back up to a walking path so there are no rear neighbors. It was the right choice for us.”

Taylor said the building process went relatively smoothly — especially considering they were building when pandemic-related supply chain issues rattled the homebuilding market.

“It took longer than expected and we did have to change out the flooring, but we were kept informed at every step,” Taylor said. “And if we ever had a question, we had a reply right away — even if it was that they were working on it. Everyone was on the team, so if someone was out, another person was able to step in.”

Taylor says that same professionalism extends to her interactions as a preferred lender.

“Their knowledge and professionalism run deep,” she said. “We couldn’t be happier in our J. Patrick home, and I am delighted to be associated with them on a business level.”
