Nestled near Lake Conroe and the Sam Houston National Forest, the Conroe area is rapidly growing due to ample attractions, the nearness to Energy Corridor employers and the presence of attractive master-planned communities such as ARTAVIA, Grand Central Park and The Woodlands Hills.

The heart and county seat of Montgomery County, Conroe offers families plenty to see and do, including outdoor adventures, theater outings, shopping and dining.

When it comes to fun, most of it is outdoors and much of that is centered on 22,000-acre Lake Conroe. On any given day you can find hundreds of water lovers, boating, fishing and swimming. The lake’s accompanying 157 miles of shoreline provide plenty of opportunities for picnicking, hiking and leisurely rambling. After a day at the lake, many outdoor adventurers end their day with a glass of wine and sunset views at one of the fabulous lakeside eateries.

Hikers, bird watchers and all-around nature lovers can get their fix at Sam Houston National Forest and W. Goodrich Jones State Forest. Hikers in particular love traversing a portion of the award-winning 128-mile Lone Star Hiking Trail. W.G. Jones State Forest is a demonstration forest that is popular with birders, picnickers and horseback riders.

A favorite spot for recreation and dining is Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville Lake Resort. For just $19 per person, fun-seekers can hang out at the 3-acre Jolly Mon water park with its lazy river, splash zone and private beach. Additionally, the resort features a spa for those seeking a tranquil experience.

There’s more to the Conroe area than the outdoors, however. Culture lovers can find theaters, museums and concert halls in downtown Conroe and The Woodlands.

The historic Crighton Theatre is the home of Stage-Right Productions, which performs throughout the year. The Owen Theatre offers up award-winning plays and musicals. Lovers of the fine arts will also want to check out the drawing and painting workshops offered by the Conroe Art League.

Just 15 minutes away from Conroe is The Woodlands. Some of the top musical acts in the world can be enjoyed at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. Children can satisfy their curiosity and let their imaginations soar at The Woodlands Children’s Museum.

From Louis Vuitton and Tiffany & Co. to lululemon, fashionistas love Market Street in The WoodlandsThe Woodlands Mall features more than 160 shops and restaurants including Coach, Free People and Anthropologie, as well as North Italia and Bazille .
